Villa del Quar was built alongside the ancient Romana Claudia Augusta road in the roman era. Evidence therefore are a double arched window in the main villa and the vaulted cellar. It was originally built as a "castrum" and used as a staging inn. It took most of its actual form in the 15th and 16th century. The structure is completed by a mid-17th century Oratory. A frieze below the eaves of the 15th century main building depicts the goddess Minerva below a warrior figure and an Aegis with a Gorgon's head. These used to be the protective icon of the house.
