Wine cellar
WINE CELLAR
The cellar structure runs parallel to the side, at a lower altitude, of the ancient Roman road, the "Claudia Augusta."
It was the "Caneva" with the vats and barrels, the property’s ancient cellar. From the porch it can be reached through a beautiful straight staircase which is bordered at its middle and shows a vault introducing the microclimate of the cellar.
Four deep niches with stone Adige floor and the overlying faces created once the ventilation. Now the same is ensured by a system of ventilation and mechanical dehumidification.
The floor is covered by “cotto” which lays over ancient design. Two of the opposite short sides represent two cherubs dancing that give a sense of cheerfulness, while on the opposite side the concept leads to the highest levels with the happy face of a drunk satyr.
The wines are housed in wooden structures with diamond-shaped cells, specially designed so that f even a single bottle can lay still. Above these structures there are three busts in plaster to protect the contents.
The lighting is made up of six twisted iron, whose design was picked up by braziers painted a painting by Titian in 1576.
The door 's entrance, dating back from the sixteenth century is made up of iron’s piles assembled using simple iron rivets.
